On my way to the post office this morning, I spotted this Smart Car displaying Pat Jette’s campaign messages.
A very creative way of rising above the increasing clutter of campaign signs, it sends all the right messages for those interested in the Rothesay race for Mayor.
The Smart Car is in the top drawer of fuel efficient vehicles. That should resonate for the environmentally conscious among us. It is also economical for those on a budget or who simply like that it represents good value for money. And… importantly, the smart Car represents change, something many in Rothesay are saying we need.
In the campaign, so far, we’re seeing some interesting use of social media. Some have been more effective in getting their messages across than others. Some with no message at all.
Several candidates have graduated beyond the rudimentary pages of Facebook to hosting their own websites. While two, Bill MaGuire and Julian Cseszko, don’t appear to have an online presence at all. It is 2016 isn’t it?
Of those with a presence, we see the more static website of Nathan Davis (who is still using Facebook for his periodic updates) to the more dynamic site of Michael Butler, who updates regularly with his “Heard at the Door” blog. I find Mike’s blog a great window on the mood of voters and shows that he’s listening on his campaign walk through Rothesay.
Of the candidates for Mayor only Pat Gallagher Jette has a dedicated website, which she, too, updates regularly along with her facebook posts here. Pat’s site is professional and uncluttered and she updates it frequently with succinct messaging. Pat’s latest campaign tool, the Smart Car will have heads turning wherever it goes.
Smart Car – Savvy Candidate.
