Julian Cseszko is at 33 the youngest of Rothesay’s first time candidates. A Military reservist with 16 years in Canada’s armed forces, Julian brings a systematic and disciplined approach to solving the challenges Rothesay faces in moving forward. His military planning experience clearly influences his approach to community problem-solving, including applying scarce financial resources to the wide array of community needs.
Julian recently returned to Rothesay by choice as he felt it was the best place to bring up his young family. His chief concern, though, is keeping Rothesay affordable while providing the services both children and adults need.
To achieve this without burdening taxpayers, he believes strongly in cooperating with the other communities around us. While he feels the Rothesay Arena could do with a much needed facelift, he doesn’t believe an adequate case has been made for building a new arena or converting the existing arena to become a field house. This is especially true as Saint John is on the verge of building a major new field house that could easily serve Rothesay’s indoor recreation needs just minutes down the road.
With additional ice sheets on the horizon as part of that development, Cseszko sees a cooperative arrangement as the most affordable way of having access to facilities we could not afford on our own.
Julian Cseszko(Pronounced Chess Co) represents a generational change, but with enough real world experience to give him a strong sense of fiscal responsibility and the discipline to keep Rothesay affordable.
Julian would represent change on every level.
Here’s hoping his low key campaign will not be a barrier to the seat on Council that he deserves.
